Gingerbread is the leading and largest charity providing help for 2.5 million lone parents and their children in England and Wales. It provides a free confidential helpline for advice on a range of queries.
It also helps to counter the effects of childhood poverty by organising events to ensure that children are not excluded from activities and opportunities. There are 200 Gingerbread self help groups around the country.
The website has factsheets and longer publications which can be downloaded. There is also an on-line members' area where you can get email bulletins and meet other members.
