Description

Help for elderly and disabled home owners and tenants. A service from Cambridge City Council Housing Services.

It can help with repairs and maintenance and adaptations to properties to help you remain independent.

They provide: free advice on getting grants and funding and liaison with occupational therapists. They can also provide surveys of property, help with plans, planning applications, selecting builders, supervision of works, payment of invoices. They take a percentage of the cost of the work for some of this (but you can include this in grant applications).

Repair work can include: damp proofing, dry rot treatment, guttering, heating, plumbing, rewiring, roofing, structural repairs, windows, woodworm.

Adaptations can include: accessible kitchens, alarm systems, downstairs toilets, ramps, showers, stairlifts.
