Care and Repair Fenland

Description

A local branch of the national charity Care and Repair. It will take care of all the necessary paperwork to help clients obtain local authority housing grant assistance, or access other funding sources.

They work with contractors and occupational therapists to ensure that all work is carried out to a good standard, making your home safer, warmer and more secure.

Care and Repair helps the following homeowners and private tenants: older people - aged 60 years or over; disabled people; and people on means-tested benefits.

They are able to help by:

- Advising on repairing, improving and adapting homes

- Helping to raise money for the work required

- Helping with the completion of grant or loan applications

- Obtaining quotes for the work from reliable contractors

- Supervising building contracts

- Checking you are getting all your state benefits

- Giving general home energy efficiency advice

- Referring you to other organisations who may be able to help you.

They also have a small shop that sells a range of mobility aids and other equipment.
