SEP develops social and co-operative enterprises in Cambridgeshire and the surrounding areas. If you are starting or developing any of the following, it can offer support and represent your interests: Trading activities in a voluntary or community organisation; A business that exists primarily for a social or environmental purpose, reinvesting surpluses to that end (a ‘social enterprise’); An organisation that is jointly owned by its members or is otherwise democratically controlled; A business that employs people with learning difficulties or physical or mental disabilities; Activities, policy etc related to social or co-operative enterprise.

The Social Enterprise People is a networking group for Cambridge Co-operative Development Agency (CCDA) which has been supporting local co-operatives since 1982.

They have a Training & Loan Fund and provide FREE help and advice in: Drafting business plans; Cash flows and financial management; Market research; Assessing the feasibility of prospective co-operatives; Access to sources of funding; Choosing an appropriate legal structure; Registering new co-operatives; Access to a small loans fund to help set up and develop co-operatives; Training
