Mobility Advice and Vehicle Information Service

Description

The Mobility Advice and Vehicle Information Service helps disabled and older motorists make informed decisions about their own mobility needs. They provide information and advice on driving, continuing or returning to driving and vehicle adaptations. They also give information on passenger transfer into and out of a vehicle and drive-from-wheelchair solutions.

They offer:

- Driving ability assessment

- Advice on van adaptations

- Advice on car adaptations

- Trying a specific adaptation

- Advice on vehicle access

The centre has facilities to measure a person's strength, steering force, reaction times and other important factors. A full written report is provided for most of the assessments.

The centre has a fleet of manual- and automatic-transmission vehicles fitted with a variety of adaptations, accessories and access aids.
