Access to Work

Also known as: AtW

Description

The Access to Work (AtW) scheme is designed to help disabled people at work. It offers practical advice and help in a flexible way that can be tailored to suit the needs of an individual in a particular job. As well as giving advice and information to disabled people and employers, Jobcentre Plus pays a grant, through AtW, towards any extra employment costs that result from a person’s disability. For example, AtW can offer a grant towards specialist equipment. For people who are starting a job the grant is up to 100% of the approved costs. For those who already in work, the grant is up to 80% of the approved costs over the first £300.

To find out how AtW can help you, contact your local Disability Employment Adviser (DEA) through your nearest Jobcentre Plus Office or Jobcentre.
