Get involved with Disability Cambridgeshire

Become a member

You do not have to be a member to use our services. Why become a member?

  • to help us plan the delivery and development of future services
  • to help to campaign on issues affecting disabled people and their carers: the more disabled people and carers we have as members the louder our voice can be heard locally
  • to be kept informed of developments affecting you: members receive our newsletter and invitations to our Annual General Meeting and other events.

We urge all who live and work in our area and who are interested in disability or carer issues to become members. Membership is free.

Join the management committee

Disability Cambridgeshire is governed by a committee made up mainly of disabled people, older people and carers. The committee is directly elected by the organisation's members at the AGM. If you would like to put yourself forward to join the management committee, please contact us to discuss it:

Volunteer

Our service is provided by a combination of paid staff and volunteers. Almost all of the volunteers are either disabled people or carers. Many of the staff also have first-hand experience of disability or caring.

All staff and volunteers must have an enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check which we will pay for and process. To enquire about volunteering, please contact us:

Make a donation

Our services are free to users and available to anyone within our area. However we are always in need of donations to support and expand our work.

There are a number of ways you can support us.

  • buy flowers from Charity Flowers Direct quoting the code: DC
  • make a donation. Please contact us. If you wish to make a donation and you pay UK income tax, please print out a Gift Aid form, sign it and send it back to us with your donation.
